Social Media Week has arrived in Miami and ThinkInk is proud to be a part of the week-long series. ThinkInk’s Chief Visibility Officer, Vanessa Horwell, will be joining a panel discussion on, Friday February 22nd called Social Good 2.0: Leveraging the Power of Social Media to Promote and Grow Your Cause, which looks at how nonprofit organizations can harness the power and reach of social media to better fulfill their missions.
The panel, which will be moderated by Lynn Ponder of WebCityGirls, will also feature Elianne Ramos of Latinos in Social Media (LATISM), Daniella Levine of Catalyst Miami and Noel Hyatt of the Broward Education Communications Network.
Social media has irreversibly changed how we interact with one another in personal – and, increasingly, professional – situations. Through channels such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Tumblr and others, nonprofits now have an unprecedented platform for reaching millions of potential volunteers and donors.
These channels allow nonprofits to tell their stories to their communities – and the world – not just through the printed word, but also through photos, videos and other rich media that can be shared. It’s great when you can describe how your work serves a social good; it’s even better when you can show your work’s impact on the community.
Vanessa will discuss the role social media can play in nonprofits’ public relations and marketing efforts, helping organizations put their best social media face forward and effectively communicate why someone would want to donate money, goods or time to their cause.
The panel session takes place at 1:30pm on Friday, February 22 at the Mondrian Hotel, 1100 West Ave. in Miami Beach. You can RSVP here and be sure to follow our live tweets of the panel @ThinkInkPR and @ThinkTankPR.
We hope to see you there!
