In 2011, a handful of well-funded early-stage technology entrepreneurs, technologists, and investors, in Miami started hustling to win our city’s growing startup scene some national recognition. Five years later, it’s clear they’ve certainly made their voices heard: The Kauffman Index ranked Miami the #2 U.S. city for startups in its most recent national report. The #MiamiTech scene is crushing it!
At ThinkInk, it took us nearly just as long to hear them – and to truly appreciate the innovation and entrepreneurial activity taking place in our own backyard.
Sure, we’d known about the great work that organizations like the Knight Foundation, Endeavor, and Venture Hive were doing to support area entrepreneurs. We knew that homegrown tech companies like CareCloud, Open English, and EveryMundo (which we proudly count as one of our most valued clients) were winning big investments and making names for themselves. And PR-savvy as we are, we had naturally noticed that national media outlets like Forbes, Inc., and others were paying major attention to our growing ecosystem.
So we started paying attention, too – and we got excited about Miami’s potential to transform the local landscape and build a unique startup hub rooted in South Florida’s vibrant, diverse environment. This year, we decided to join the movement in earnest by diving into #MiamiTech in a big way – starting with our participation in this month’s eMERGE Americas conference.
For the third year in a row, eMERGE Americas will bring together business leaders, investors, government officials, and entrepreneurs from North America, Latin America, and Europe for two days of summits, keynotes, startup competitions, and networking events.
Since its launch in 2014, eMERGE has already grown into one of the top B2B tech conferences in the U.S. – making it a perfect fit for ThinkInk’s favorite specialization: helping high-growth B2B companies become visible, successful market leaders. In today’s digital landscape, technology and media are more intertwined than ever. We feel it’s only right for our agency to join the local tech scene to help our area’s most promising startups to leverage the full power of B2B PR in support of their business goals!
As part of our involvement in eMERGE, ThinkInk will sponsor and co-host the Women’s Leadership Panel on Tuesday, April 19 at 3:15 pm ET. The session will feature our CSO Vanessa Horwell, who will help guide discussion of how tech’s top women leaders are making lasting impacts on the industries they serve. Vanessa will also be judging the Young Entrepreneur Business Plan Competition (organized by NFTE, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, and the Miami Herald) earlier the same day, from 8 am to 10 am ET at the Launch Pad at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
We hope you’ll join us at eMERGE support #MiamiTech and help us grow our community into an even more impactful startup ecosystem. If you’ll be attending, drop us a line at info@thinkinkpr.com so we can set up a time to meet! We’d like to hear your thoughts on B2B tech innovation, Miami entrepreneurship, and more.
